CRJ 216 Wrongful Convictions

The objective of this course is to analyze the investigative, prosecutorial, defense, and judicial processes that can culminate in innocent individuals being wrongfully convicted. The complexity of the appeal process and the impact of the resulting unintended consequences for the individual, victim, social, political, and judicial processes will be examined using actual case studies.
