Capstone Courses
Each bachelor’s degree program includes a capstone course. A capstone course is taken after most of the degree requirements have been met and allows students to demonstrate cumulative knowledge of their chosen field. Most capstone courses require participation in the Academic Symposium or completion of a practicum.
The fall and spring Academic Symposium celebrate the academic achievements and capstone projects of graduating seniors. Participation in the symposium or another approved venue is required of all students for graduation. A diverse array of subjects is presented each year, ranging from executive simulations to scholarly papers to musical recitals. Symposiums are held on the second to last Friday of the semester, both fall and spring. In cases of Good Friday, symposium will be on the second to last Thursday.
