Explores the various ways in which certain persons are granted sexual pleasure, like straight
men, HIV-negative persons, abled persons, and certain races, while others are not. Policies
aimed at controlling sexuality and body autonomy will also be considered. The course will
examine feminist approaches, media representation, and particularly the unrealistic,
harmful norms and imagery in advertising, music, film, and television contributing to
potential harm to young women and girls. One mandatory field trip. Open to first-year frosh
only.
