SPAN 382 Contemporary Mexican Novel

This course analyzes the narrative development of the contemporary Mexican novel from the Mexican Revolution to the present. Principal novelists studied in this seminar are Mariano Azuela Juan Rulfo Carlos Fuentes Gustavo Sainz Elena Poniatowska Angeles Mastretta and Laura Esquivel. This course combines textual analysis with the application of contemporary literary theory.
