POLS 243 Juvenile Justice: Children in Conflict with the Law
The course examines the political social and cultural significance of juvenile justice and the impacts of regulating juvenile offenders through formal retributive systems. Students will be introduced to such topics as: the origins of the juvenile justice system the contemporary juvenile justice system racial disproportionality the school to prison pipeline as well as international perspectives on juvenile justice and human rights.
