MAC 240 Introduction to Media Practices
This course builds upon the critical and historical grounding of MAC 100-level gateway courses, providing students with foundational media production skills and exposure to the wide-ranging creative possibilities of time-based media practices. Students will conceptually and practically explore historical and contemporary approaches to fictional, documentary, and experimental media through a series of collaborative production projects, each supplemented by a range of readings, exercises, technical workshops, guests, screenings, and critiques. Prerequisites: Instructor Permission. Completion of at least one 100-level MAC gateway course (MAC 143, 145, or 146). Not open to seniors.
