The Legal Office Support certificate is a short-term training program specifically designed for students interested in acquiring the skills needed for entry-level positions in small to medium law firms. Training focuses on developing a high level of proficiency in keyboarding and word processing, preparing various legal documents, and understanding legal office ethics and procedures. Students learn how to prepare court and client documents related to various legal specialties such as litigation, contracts, torts, criminal law, family law, real estate, wills and estates.

Requirement Notes
OFT101: Students who touch type 35 wpm or more and have knowledge of Microsoft Word 2010 may waive OFT101 and register for OFT102. The credits for OFT101 may be fulfilled with a 3-credit open elective.
OFT114: A minimum grade of C- is required to graduate from this program and to meet OFT prerequisites.
LAD Directed Electives: Students must select one (1) of the following Directed electives: PLG104, PLG108, PLG104, or PLG205
