For example, courses in composition, English literature, poetry, playwriting, grammar, and English linguistics are acceptable. For certificates that require 30 semester hours in the content core, a maximum of 6 semester hours of credit for study in related areas such as speech, drama, theater, and journalism may be allowed toward this requirement.
