  • Masters Degree or above in a functionally related area

Program and Certification Requirements:

The following courses or their equivalents must appear on a graduate or undergraduate transcript at the time of graduation. Prerequisite undergraduate coursework as well as graduate mathematics (MATH) or Math Education (MAE) courses within this program may be used to meet this requirement but a total of at least 30 credits in Mathematics must be completed outside of the Masters degree.

  • Per NYSED:

    Mathematics (30 credits)

    Acceptable courses would typically be offered by a Mathematics department, and would include courses in mathematical reasoning, quantitative methods, number theory and concepts, algebra, analytic geometry, calculus, geometry, trigonometry, data analysis, probability, and discrete mathematics. A maximum 6 S.H. of statistics coursework (offered by a Mathematics or Statistics department) can be accepted. Calculus 1 and 2 are required.
