EDAD 8300 Scholarly Communication and Literature Review

The primary purpose of the course is to strengthen the writing skills of students as they compose their doctoral dissertations. Course content will include organization and planning for writing and a review of writing fundamentals - structure, style, and mechanics - in the context of student needs. Students will study the APA format and dissertation models to be better informed as to which option will best support their dissertation scholarship. Students will analyze sample dissertation excerpts and develop a draft of a Review of the Literature and ideas for a formal prospectus. (Students will also use the course to get feedback on their doctoral program required end-of-year assignment.)
