Transfer Students/Transient Students

Transfer students are considered for admissions based on their previous college record. Applicants should request that a transcript from all colleges and/or universities attended be submitted to the Office of the Registrar and Admissions well in advance of registration. Official transcripts are required for all admissions into specific terms in which the student intends to enroll for.  If grades are pending for a specific term a transcript hold will remain in place until the student submits the transcript showing the full term grades.  If the student does not meet the transcript requirement, an official transcript from Laredo College cannot be released.

Transfer students from other colleges or universities who are in good standing may be accepted for admission at Laredo College upon receipt of a complete transcript indicative of all college work taken. All transfer students are subject to TSI requirements. Assessment scores must be sent to Laredo College if not recorded on the transcript.

It is the responsibility of the transferring student to notify the Associate Dean of Students and the Office of the Registrar and Admissions if the student is under any form of scholastic or disciplinary condition from other colleges or universities. Failure to do so may constitute a basis for refusing admission to the college and/or will cause the student to be dropped from all enrolled courses after being admitted.

Students on academic warning and academic suspension from another college or university may be eligible to be admitted into Laredo College. However, students under academic suspension may be allowed to enroll under the same conditions as LC students on academic suspension status. These students need to appeal to the Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeals Committee for permission to enroll. If a student has been on academic suspension three or more times, the student will not be eligible to enroll. The student will be required to remain out for one full semester (Fall or Spring), before being considered for enrollment.

Students on disciplinary suspension from another college or university may not enter Laredo College until the period of the disciplinary suspension has expired at the other college or university.
