INDS 256 Green Europe: Cultures of Sustainability in Germany and Beyond
This course explores key topics of sustainability and environmentalism in four European countries: Germany, Switzerland, France, and the Czech Republic. Students learn about technologies, initiatives, and policies related to climate change, renewable energy, recycling, transportation, housing, design, and activism in Europe. In close conversation with field trips to cities such as Freiburg, Basel, Strasbourg, Berlin, and Prague, students will explore and experience European history and cultures while developing individual sustainability projects in a global perspective. The course is part of a study abroad program that requires completing a German language course. [GM2, V]
