HR 140 Employment Law

This course helps students understand and apply the basic framework of employment law in the United States. Students will analyze legal statutes and recommend strategies to prevent discrimination and limit employer risk. Other topics include managing compliance with workplace regulations, privacy laws, and labor relations. Students are strongly advised to take HR 140 and HR 160 together their first semester. These courses are both prerequisite to HR 225 and HR 250.
