PSY 451 Health Psychology

Why do some people thrive in the face of illness while others struggle? How do stress, beliefs, and social connections shape our health? Health Psychology explores the powerful links between mind, body, and behavior using the biopsychosocial model. Students will dive into topics such as stress and coping, mind-body interventions, personality and health, and the role of culture and society in shaping health outcomes. We'll examine how psychological factors influence everything from daily habits to chronic illness management---and how this knowledge can be applied to improve health and well-being.
