OMED 8243 Developmental Pediatrics Elective Clerkship
This two-week elective clerkship is designed to provide experiential learning in the field of developmental pediatrics. To accomplish this, students will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team caring for infants, children, and adolescents with a wide range of developmental and behavioral concerns. Through broad exposure to common developmental, neuromuscular, and genetic syndromes, students will become familiar with comprehensive developmental assessments, appropriate consultation, and available resources for children with disabilities. The student will also acquire experience in communicating with parents of children with developmental conditions and gain an understanding of the medical, psychosocial, and educational impact of these conditions.
