Students graduate with an understanding of modern teaching pedagogy, conducting, score study, elementary and secondary classroom organization, and advanced learning theories. In addition, students are exposed to methods of inclusion, diversity in the profession, and myriad repertoire styles.

The Bachelor of Music in Music Education offers two tracks: Vocal Track and Instrumental Track.

Future choir directors should follow the Vocal Track while future band or orchestra directors should follow the Instrumental Track. Students who would like to teach Elementary Music can choose either the Vocal Track or Instrumental Track.

A minimum of 149 credit hours are needed to complete either track of the Bachelor of Music in Music Education.
