ATHP 6356 Interventions II

This course explores the scientific theory and basic principles of musculoskeletal rehabilitation and therapeutic modalities. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the disablement model and learning how to plan, implement, document, and evaluate care plans for the rehabilitation and reconditioning of injuries and illnesses across the healing continuum. The incorporation of manual treatments (e.g., traction, muscle energy and massage) and laser into a rehabilitation program will be investigated. Interprofessional collaboration will be a core component of this course. Both surgical and non-surgical rehabilitation models will be discussed with a special emphasis on the use of functional progressions.
