ED 400 Method and Practice in Teach Comp and Vocab

In this course, reading comprehension is examined as a meaning-making construct through which the reader interacts with text. Candidates learn strategies to comprehend, interpret, analyze, and evaluate text using a variety of genres from a literary, informational, and multicultural perspective that considers the inherent global themes of literary and informational text, poetry, persuasive and functional texts. Candidates apply skills to authentic contexts as they acquire core understandings about literacy pedagogy.
