Data Analytics (Big Data) Certificate
The Data Analytics Certificate provides a strategy for graduate students looking to advance in the field of big data analytics. Depending on previous experience, this certificate is ideal for students of math, computer science, or business academic backgrounds. Courses will introduce the process and products of big data, examining management, and ethical, policy, and technical issues of this complex field. The need for people with data analytics experience is growing rapidly and this certificate can be completed in just twelve credits of coursework.
The Data Analytics Certificate includes coursework delivered primarily through the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, with some electives offered by the Welch College of Business. At the completion of the Data Analytics graduate certificate, students may apply to the Master of Science in Computer Science, Master of Science Digital Marketing, or Master of Business Administration (MBA). If admitted to one of the degree programs, students may be able to use credits earned in the certificate program toward the degree as electives. Furthermore, candidates who earn a minimum 3.5 GPA in the certificate program are eligible for a GMAT exam waiver when applying to the Digital Marketing or MBA programs.

Students who have successfully completed the graduate certificate may apply to the Master of Science in Computer Science, Master of Science Digital Marketing, or Master of Business Administration (MBA). If admitted to one of the degree programs, students may be able to use credits earned in the certificate program toward the degree as electives.
