CRJ 22500 Women and the Criminal Justice System
A 21st century view of women and their relationship in all aspects of law and social control. September 11, 2001, has forever changed our criminal justice system and the parameters of individual liberty and government power. Female police officers are commonplace in today's police force and female offenders are rising at higher rates than their male counterparts. The course will explore women's role as social control practitioners in the criminal justice system, women as victims, and women offenders.
