MSCI 5027 International Human Resources

This course is devoted to understanding the issues associated with managing human resources on an internatinal basis to achieve corporate objectives. Students will study differnces in organizational strategies, structures, policies and practices as organizations seek to maximize global performance, productivity and profitability while retaining high levels of engagement and moral. As related to human resource management, emphasis will be placed on the integration of corporate and national cultures and on maintaing a balance between control and autonomy in decision making. Specific topics of interest will be international mergers and acquistions, international employment laws, and global staffing, including the management of outsourced operations and expatriates.
