ENG 1996 (Optional) Research course: Freshmen may partner with faculty to earn one credit as a free elective, which may be taken up to two times.

ENG 3291, ENG 3292 and ENG 3293 (Optional) Internship courses: Majors may enroll in internships, if available, for 1, 2 or 3 credits for a maximum of six credits, which may fulfill free elective requirements. Prerequisite are ENG 3001 or ENG 3029; 75 credits.
