ENGL 3052 Asian Literatures
Introduction to the literature of one or more Asian literatures, translated into English, in aesthetic, religious, and cultural contexts. Topics may include: haiku, women’s literary history of Japan, Buddhism and literature, Korean and Tibetan literature, literature and the bomb, avant garde literature, and Noh plays. Authors studied may include, but are not limited to, Basho, Mishima, Murasaki, Kenzaburo, Li Po, Tu Fu, Li Ching Chao, and Ikkyu.
