This two-week experience is designed to provide experiential learning in hospice/palliative care. Students are given the opportunity to screen, diagnose, and manage common problems experienced by people dealing with chronic pain and/or end-of-life status. Emphasis is placed on the acquisition of additional skills in medical interviewing, cultural sensitivity, note writing, and case presentation. Students will also learn to identify and address the impact of patients’ socioeconomic and biopsychosocial issues on their health.
