INDR 8361 Applied Ethnography in Fieldwork: Cultural Aspects of Community Engaged Research

Understanding cultural dimensions of research is paramount to generating culturally relevant research. This course focuses on addressing real world problems in versatile ways, by using an applied ethnographic research approach to help researchers make sense of human behavior and social reality in diverse settings and contexts. By inviting, involving, and empowering participants to be involved from research design through data collection, analysis, interpretation and practical application of findings, students will learn about applied ethnography in the field, data collection, and how to analyze and apply findings that are relevant and impactful to the target communities.
