CHE 400 Analytical & Instrumental Chemistry

This course will introduce students to quantitative measurements of complex chemical systems requiring isolation of a component. General approaches to quantitative problems at the trace level will be examined. Students will also explore critical comparisons of competitive procedures with emphasis on principles of separation processes, including chromatography, and recognition and evaluation of possible sources of error. Approaches for optimizing conditions to minimize time and/or effort required to attain prescribed levels of accuracy and precision will also be presented.
