INSE 495 Capstone Project
In the capstone course, students collect and organize artifacts and evidence of learning outcomes and reflect on their learning and professional growth. The student integrates this work into a single product, a Web-based ePortfolio, through which the student presents reflection on learning achievements and showcases professional competencies in connection with the their career goals. This is an integrative showcase of the student’s achievements that is created through analysis, synthesis, and refection. The course is assessed in four deliverables: Archived Curriculum Coursework Artifacts; Beyond the Classroom and Learning Philosophy Statement; Reflective Essays; and the ePortfolio Website.
Learning Outcomes
Successful completion of this capstone course requires the student demonstrate the ability to:
- Describe how and in what ways different academic fields of study are related through personal experiences and learnings
- Adapt and apply skills, abilities, theories, or methodologies acquired in one situation to new situations
- Connect relevant experiences and academic knowledge to program outcomes
- Demonstrate how one grew as a self-learner throughout the program of study
- Illustrate different forms of communication to enhance meaning (prose, sound, visual media)
- Apply your understanding of digital media to create an academic capstone portfolio
