OMED 8276 Advanced Evidence-Based Medicine Elective Clerkship
This two-week elective clerkship for osteopathic medical students is designed to prepare future resident physicians with the capability to conduct a critical review of a medical journal article, identify the article’s strengths and weaknesses, and develop a succinct critique for presentation during the program’s journal club learning format. This course will reaffirm the concepts of a critical peer review, which the medical students will utilize to review two carefully selected articles, one per week of the course. Each of the two articles will be discussed in a simulated journal club methodology by the enrolled medical students with the course director serving as facilitator.
