METR 4390 Mesoscale Meteorology

Mesoscale meteorology is the study of medium-scale weather features from 2 to 2000 km in size. This course will provide a bridge in understanding and forecasting approaches of meteorological phenomena between the larger synoptic scale and the much smaller micrometeorological scale. The course includes descriptions of basic physical mesoscale processes, analysis of mesoscale weather phenomena, and application of forecasting approaches.
