HIST 2332 Introduction to Asian History

Students survey the ancient, medieval and modern history of Asia thematically and topically. Through an exploration into the diverse histories of Asia, the course addresses such concepts as religious identities, sovereignty, artistic and economic interchange, and the evolution of cultures. In the process, the course not only illustrates the interconnectedness of Asia, but also points out the economic and cultural ties between various regions of Asia and other parts of the world. This course provides the foundational knowledge for any upper-level course on Asia and Asian Studies. Course does not count toward the Core Curriculum requirement.
