GOVT 3111 Law School Preparation Colloquium

This course is designed to introduce students with an interest in a legal career to the field of law, with a focus on the law school application and Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) preparation process. The course provides an overview of the field of legal practice in the United States, including types of legal careers and job market trends. The focus of the course is the law school application process, with workshops requiring students to practice portions of the LSAT exam, determine how a career in law is a good "fit," draft personal and diversity statements, research financial aid options, and participate in question and answer sessions with law school admissions representatives, practicing attorneys, and other members of the legal community.
