ARTS 2371 Introduction to Art Therapy

This course introduces students to the art therapy profession. Students will study the history and development of art therapy, as well as the therapeutic function and value of art. The impact of art experience on emotional, intellectual and behavioral development and/or rehabilitation will be explored through lectures, readings, discussions, and experiential exercises, with a special emphasis upon the relationship between fine art, art therapy and psychology.
