DPT 6514 Professional Topics 3

This is a blended face-to-face and online course that focuses on the meaning of professional involvement in physical therapy as well as evidence-based practice and research. The course explores health care systems of the United States and other developed nations, as well as a physical therapist’s role in advocacy. It applies concepts of ethics, law communication, and psychosocial issues to patients with chronic conditions, progressive illness, and introduces children with disabilities and their families. Learning activities are closely related to the patient/client problem introduced in Physical Therapy Reasoning, Patient/Client Management and Foundational Sciences courses.

Enrolled full-time in the professional program with satisfactory completion of all course work to date.
