Pre-requisites for UIW Master of Biomedical Sciences
Undergraduate course preparation will be vital to the success of the student applicant. Minimum coursework requirements include the courses below. All prerequisites must be taken from a regionally accredited college/university and earn a “C” or higher for each course (2.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale). A grade of "C-" does not meet the minimum grade requirement.
Required Courses
- Biology with lab: minimum of 8 semester hours
- General Chemistry with lab: minimum of 8 semester hours
- ***Organic Chemistry with lab: minimum of 4 semester hours
- Biochemistry: minimum of 3 semester hours
- ^Physics with lab: minimum of 3 semester hours
- *Human Anatomy or Anatomy & Physiology I: 3-4 semester hours
- **Human Physiology or Anatomy & Physiology II: 3-4 semester hours
*Human Anatomy or Anatomy & Physiology I - required only for students seeking Physician Assistant, Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy pathways. (Recommended for students seeking medical school entry)
