Creative Writing Minor

The UIW English Department is devoted to championing creativity and providing opportunities for imaginative practice in the literary arts for all UIW students. The Creative Writing Minor therefore provides direct instruction on the craft, techniques, study, and application of creative writing for students in any major, with the idea that generating creative, written works serves to strengthen our students’ capacity for mental flexibility, empathy, original thinking, and masterful writing—traits that will serve them throughout their lives, no matter their chosen discipline, career, or life path.
