ARTS 2315 Introduction to Photographic Portraiture

In this course students will learn the basics of photographic portraiture including formal vs. candid portraiture; portraiture on location vs, studio portraiture; single subject portraits and/or multiple subject portraits; and the aesthetics of portraiture. Techniques will include lighting choices, depth-of-field to control the viewer's attention, directing the subject, choosing the optimal time and location, and collaborating in a subject/client relationship. Five and one-half studio hours a week. Fee. Offered in Spring.
