EDSI 2375 Earth and Space Science for Elementary Teachers

This course will examine the content of Earth and space science as well as instructional and assessment procedures for science teaching in EC-6 classrooms.  Earth and space science concepts will be developed through problem solving and hands-on activities. The course will focus on earth systems, weather, climate, the solar system, the scientific method, and science pedagogy.  The primary goal of this course is to gain knowledge and skills that will prepare teacher candidates for science teaching.  The course is the third in the science sequence following BIOL 1401, Diversity of Life & Lab and EDSI 2374, Physical Science for Elementary Teachers (formally PHYS 2374: Science for Elementary Teachers).
