HIST 4343 Topics in Asian History

This course will be an umbrella for courses on different regions and countries of Asia, especially Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, etc. both thematically and topically.  The course will examines the major trends in the development of history and civilization of the Asian countries and will give the students an appreciation of the fundamental political, social, religious and economic ideas and forces that shaped these countries.

Prerequisite

At least 3 semester hours of upper division History courses. May be taken as a CLST or INST elective.
