SPAN 43003 Medical Translation and Interpretation
Prerequisite: SPAN 30503, 30603, or 31703. This course introduces skills for English-to -Spanish medical translation and interpretation. Course exposes students to standard medical terminology, medical phraseology, and specialty terms. Emphasis is placed on translation and interpretation as tools to build language skills and intercultural competence in the medical field. Contrastive analyses between Spanish and English as a way of gaining competence in the Spanish language.
