ED 344 Method & Practice Foundational Literacy

This is the first of two introductory courses in the study of literacy pedagogy for elementary education candidates focusing on the stages of literacy acquisition, and the core components of literacy instruction, including concepts of print and the alphabet principle, the role of phonics in promoting reading development, word analysis skills and strategies, and methods for assessing reading development.
