PSY 226 Psychology of Childhood - Honors

This honors course focuses on the scientific study of human development from conception through late middle childhood. Current dominant theories, issues, controversies, and concepts are examined and applied to integrate the physical, emotional, and sociocultural aspects of development. Special emphasis is placed on the parent-child relationship and on research methodology specific to child development. As an honors course, research and a resulting research project/paper is required.

PSY 102 or PSY 103 or permission of the Department Chair or Honors Coordinator
