ENG 208 American Values in Literature
Students will read and analyze American literature from the closing of the frontier (1870) to the present, with the major focus on the value systems embraced by the fictional characters. The course examines the era's historical, geographic and social forces, which have shaped American values such as self-reliance, diversity, and personal and political freedom. Fulfills literature requirement for AA degree.
