Transfer and Articulation
Students intending to transfer should meet with a faculty advisor early in their RCC careers. They are well advised to pursue the AA or AS degree. Though the AAS degree is intended for students who are preparing for an immediate entry into a technical field, it may be appropriate at times as a transfer degree to certain types of specialized baccalaureate programs. It is important to note that additional credit hours may be required of an AAS degree graduate who later decides to pursue a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. Since some transfer institutions require, for example, specific laboratory science and/or specific mathematics courses, it is useful for students to consult the catalog and contact the admissions office of the four-year college to which they intend to transfer.
The College has established articulation agreements with a number of public and private four-year colleges. These agreements stipulate certain requirements students must meet while attending RCC in order to guarantee junior status in the major of their choice upon graduation and transfer.
