Graduate Handbook 2024-2025

Transfer Credit

Incoming graduate students may transfer a maximum of nine (9) semester credits of graduate-level work from other accredited colleges or universities (see program-specific transfer credit policies).

Credits will be transferred only if: (a) the course is appropriate to the student’s academic program; (b) the course was completed within the time limit for the desired degree; and (c) the student earned a grade of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the course.

Graduate transfer credit requests are handled directly with a student’s graduate advisor. Decisions about transfer credits are not made until the student has been admitted to the graduate program. Students should provide their advisor with the course syllabus, samples of their work, and a copy of the transcript that reflects the final grade in the course.
