General Education Program
The general education program establishes the broad liberal arts core of all bachelor’s degrees and guides students' academic journey at Rochester University. The curriculum supports the mission by emphasizing preparation for professional and personal success through our EPIC learning goals. EPIC stands for Exploring, Preparing, Integrating, and Calling. Through these goals, students continually engage with God's world, gain experiences, knowledge and skills, and develop pathways to purpose and meaning.
The requirements for the general education program include 15 courses, totaling 41 credit hours. Courses listed in the general education core are from Rochester University’s course offerings. Transfer courses may satisfy the requirements, subject to the approval of the appropriate department chair or director. For information about how individual transfer courses satisfy general education requirements, request a transfer evaluation or visit http://RochesterU.edu/2021-2022/Course-Catalog/Course-Information/Transfer-Courses.
Note: Transfer students who complete a Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA), including two semesters of college composition, will satisfy all Rochester University general education requirements except seven credits listed under "Integrating" and "Calling."
