Spiritual Formation

Spiritual formation at Rochester College  is an invitation to root your identity in the Christian story through participation in God’s work in creation and new creation. We will support you as you develop meaningful and healthy relationships with others characterized by hospitality and mutual shaping. We will challenge you to respectfully engage with and participate in your own and others’ cultures in order to promote mutual understanding, social justice, and common good. Spiritual formation will empower you to discover your vocation by developing a sense of purpose and place within God's story demonstrated through self-giving service to the world.

Campus Ministry

Campus ministry exists to call and empower the Rochester College community to faithful worship and relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that spirituality is real and that it produces action. We invite students, faculty, staff, and our community to participate in God’s activity in the world while being transformed into the likeness of Christ.

Living a life in service to others is essential to what it means to be a Rochester College student. Campus Ministry creates partnerships across Rochester College and out in the community to empower students to participate in the work of God in the world through service with and for others. Chapel-Convocation Series

A person’s Telos speaks of that person’s ultimate aims, goals, and life trajectory. Considering our Telos compels us to ask towards which end are we directing the activity of our lives? As a part of Rochester College's Christian mission and identity, every full-time traditional student is required to participates in the Rochester College Chapel/Convocation series (RCC), which is overseen by the Spiritual Formation Campus Ministry office within the Center for Student Life.

The RCC series offers opportunities for students to participate in chapels, convocations, and other service initiatives aimed at building Christian faith and community, affirming Christian values, and developing a holistic understanding of spiritual growth and wellness, emotional, and physical wellness. The RCC series also includes a variety of opportunities, which include chapel/convocation, and chapel electives.

Chapel is an integral part of the Rochester College educational experience, therefore exemptions are not granted. For policies related to modifications, points, attendance, and participation expectations, please see the student handbook.
