NL231 Fundamentals of Nursing:Care of the Older Adult Clinical-Lab
This course provides the student with opportunity to incorporate the theoretical and practical basis for fundamental nursing skills. Fundamental nursing skills including psychomotor nursing skills needed to assist individuals in meeting basic human needs are experienced. Skills necessary for maintaining microbial, physical, and psychological safety are introduced along with skills needed in therapeutic interventions. At the conclusion of this course students demonstrate competency in performing basic nursing skills for individuals with common health alterations. The nursing process is used to identify and address the bio-psycho-social, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs of individuals during the clinical component. Clinical lab 90 hours.
