NB231 Fundamentals of Nursing:Care of the Older Adult
This course provides opportunities to develop competencies necessary to meet the basic needs of individuals throughout the lifespan with a special focus on care of the older adult, in a safe, legal, and ethical manner using the nursing process. Students further develop the learned concepts and theories basic to the art and science of nursing. Students expand on the concepts of client needs, safety, communication, teaching/learning, critical thinking, ethical-legal, cultural diversity, nursing history, and the program's primary/secondary themes as well as its philosophy of nursing. Additionally, this course introduces the fundamental concepts of promoting, maintaining, and regaining health of individuals across the lifespan.
