THED 4499 Internship II

Drama Education majors, as a part of their professional semester, will be complete a semester- long assignment in a theatre classroom. The student participating in the internship will be assigned a host teacher and a college supervisor. Both individuals will provide regular observations and assessments on the student's growth as a Theatre instructor. Responsibilities are outlined in the Internship Handbook.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon the completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate the following outcome-based learning skills:

  1. Discuss, model and reflect upon the knowledge, understandings, skills, dispositions and other attributes of accomplished teaching evidenced in area high schools.
  2. The Piedmont School of Education Conceptual Framework, Core Candidate Learning Outcomes (CCLOs), national and Georgia content standards (GPS) and the Georgia Systemic Teacher Education Program (GSTEP) Framework for Accomplished Teaching will provide the basis for all candidate requirements. Candidates have the opportunity to:
    1. Critique a variety of instructional practices.
    2. Analyze and evaluate the dynamics of schooling.
    3. Synthesize content knowledge and pedagogy into a coherent repertoire of effective instructional practices.
    4. Create their own educational philosophy and personal teaching style.
