Florida Student Assistance Grant - Career Education (FSAG-CE)

FSAG-CE is a need-based grant program available to Florida residents enrolled in certificate programs of 450 or more clock hours or 15 credit hours. There is no guarantee that every eligible student will be able to receive the grant because fund availability is limited.

How to apply

1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available online
2. Ensure that the College's name and code (010652) are listed correctly on the FAFSA

Eligibility

Students may be eligible if they:

1. Are a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen
2. Have been a Florida resident for at least 12 consecutive months
3. Enroll for a minimum of 180 clock hours per semester (or equivalent of six semester credits required for declared certificate program)
4. Are neither in default nor overpayment on student loans or other aid
5. Demonstrate financial need as defined by the state
6. Are transfer students with at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA
7. Have not previously received a baccalaureate degree
8. Have not completed more than 110% of the required number of credit/clock hours required for their declared certificate program

Criteria for continuing eligibility

1. Must maintain 2.0 cumulative GPA
2. Must complete 12 credit hours or the equivalent number of clock hours per semester for full-time enrollment
3. Must complete nine credit hours or the equivalent number of clock hours per semester for 3/4-time enrollment
4. Must complete six credit hours or the equivalent number of clock hours per semester for 1/2-time enrollment
5. Demonstrate financial need by completing an error-free FAFSA each academic year
6. Withdrawals or unsuccessful completion of courses can affect students' eligibility to receive the FSAG-CE the following academic year
7. Eligibility for renewal is determined at the end of the spring semester
8. Have not completed more than 110% of the required number of credit/clock hours required for their declared certificate program
9. Credit hours earned the previous summer can be counted toward the total number of credit hours required.
